Town of Fleming Vacation Packages

The property is undergoing substantial construction as it apparently transitions to a Hampton by Hilton. There was no vending machine or small market/snack area, breakfast had no fresh fruit whatsoever, and despite being full, the body wash bottle was defective, so I ended up washing my face with shampoo. Annoying, but minor compared with what happened at check-in. I checked in 10:30 p.m., the front desk gave me a key card to a room that was already occupied. I opened the door to find a man sitting at the table working on his computer. Thankfully, he was fully clothed, calm, and as confused as I was. This could have gone very differently. I am a woman who was unexpectedly sent into a male stranger's hotel room late at night, while he had his privacy and security violated. There are countless ways this situation could have ended badly. Most concerning was the response. When I returned downstairs, the employee essentially responded with “oops, my bad,” with no apparent recognition of how serious a safety failure this was. The next morning, I tried to hand my key to one of two employees at the desk and was told not to give it to him. It was another strangely unhelpful interaction. I can overlook construction and limited amenities. Giving a guest access to an occupied room and then treating it as a trivial mistake? I cannot overlook that.
